Key Stage 2 Homework
Homework
Homework will be handed out to pupils on Tuesday 1st October and is expected to be returned to school on Monday 7th October.
Reading
We ask that pupils read outside of school, to an adult, at least five times a week. Reading can include a range of type of media, not just their colour banded reading book. This could be, for example, comics, magazines, or reading on a tablet or Kindle.
Your child has a reading diary for you to sign to say that they have read and their class teacher will check these on Friday each week.
Maths
Each week, your child will be provided with a maths skill check and this will be stuck into their homework books, but they are available below so they can be downloaded at home.
In the autumn term, the children are expected to complete column A each week; however, if your child wishes to attempt additional questions, we ask that this is encouraged.
Times Table Rockstar
In Key Stage 2, all pupils have access to a Times Table Rockstar account so that they can log on at home to practise. Each week, there will be a Battle of the Bands competition set up for all children to take part in with the winners being announced every Friday assembly. The on-going Times Table Rockstar championship can be viewed here.
Knowledge Organisers
Knowledge organisers will be sent home at the start of each half-term to support the children in learning key facts and core information about their current topics. The knowledge organisers can be found on the school website.
Half-Termly Homework
This will be shared with pupils the week beginning Monday 4th November 2024 and will take place at the end of each term.
