A Typical Day at Borrow Wood

Early Years Foundation Stage - Reception 8.55am - 3.30pm (6hrs 35mins daily = 32hrs 55mins weekly)

Gates are open from 8.45am to 8.55am daily for parents and carers to drop children off at the Early Years play area gate. You can pass on any messages to staff at this time.

During the day there are formal teaching sessions to focus on maths, phonics and writing as well as opportunities for Child Initiated Activities both indoors and outdoors.

 

Early Years Foundation Stage - Nursery

Nursery sessions are from 8.45am - 11.45am and from 12.30pm - 3.30pm. (3hrs per session) Gates are open at 8.45am daily for parents and carers to drop children off at the double yellow Nursery doors. Children coming for afternoon sessions are dropped off at 12.30pm at the front Early Years play area.

 

Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 - 8.55am - 3.30pm (6hrs 35mins daily = 32hrs 55mins weekly)

Doors are open from 8.45am to 8.55am for parents/carers to drop off children.  A typical day will follow this pattern:

  • 8.45am 8.55am - Drop off children 
  • 9.00am - Registration
  • 9.00am - 10.30am - Learning session 1
  • 10.30 - 10.45am - Assembly 
  • 10.45am - 11.00am - Break
  • 11.00am - 12.00pm - Learning session 2
  • 12.00pm - 1.15pm - Lunch time (Reception and KS1 - 12.00pm - 1.00pm; KS2 12.15pm - 1.15pm)
  • 1.00pm - 3.30pm - Afternoon lessons usually cover all other areas of the curriculum.
