Year 1 and 2
On this web page, you will find the homework for children in Damson, Elder and Apple class. This page of the website will be updated on a weekly basis with the new homework tasks. The children will receive their homework tasks every Tuesday and it is to be returned by the following Monday.
Maths Skills Check – The children should aim to complete at least column A and B, and should try column C if they can
Daily reading – your child should read at home 5 times per week
High Frequency words – Your child has a list of high frequency words in their reading dairy – it would be helpful for you to test them on these daily.
Times Table Rock Stars – children have their log in in their reading dairy and should be practising their times tables at least twice a week.
Your child needs to complete one of the activities below and should bring in their home learning in the last week of term to share with the class (w/c 18th July)
Our topic this half term is Why is the village of Eyam so important?
Make a model of a cottage which you would find in Eyam.
Write a diary of a person that lived in Eyam during the time of the plague.
Create a stained-glass window (using tissue paper) for the church in Eyam.
Google: Stained glass windows Eyam church for some inspiration.
Design a snack for a person who is living in Eyam during the plague. The snack will need to be left on the Parish stone. Maybe you could cook the snack and take photos to bring into school.
Thank you for your support,
Year 1 and 2 Team.
