Reading task (10:15-10:35)

Please read the story and draw a story map.

Read this story:

Parker lived in a house near a hill. He had a green t-shirt with a football on it. He loved to play football.

He went to the park to see his friends. All of a sudden, it started to rain.

Parker stood under a bridge and waited for the rain to stop.

Then, he went to see his granny. His granny lived in a house near a pond. She passed him a cookie.

DT (10:35 - 11:35)

You will need for this lesson: scissors, pencil, ruler, glue/stapler, gingerbread man outline.

Please follow the instructions below to complete your gingerbread man puppet.

Year 1

1. Use scissors to cut out your gingerbread man outline.

2. Place your finger along the edge of the paper and mark a line at the tip of your finger.

3. Draw a rectangle around your finger with a ruler and cut it out.

4. Fold that rectangle around your finger to make a ring shape. Glue/staple (ask your adult to help) the two ends together.

5. Once dried, stick/staple (ask for help) the ring on the back on your gingerbread man outline.

Send a picture to your teacher with your finger puppet :-)

Phonics (11:35 - 11:45)

Look at your phonics sounds in the brown envelope in your reading folder. Please spend this time revising these sounds as well as reading the sight words on the orange card.
