Who are the characters in this story?

Today we are going to start our design and technology project. We are going to be making finger puppets! First we need to research what finger puppets look like and how they are made.

Some are made from felt, some are made from paper and some are made from different materials.

We are going to be using paper to do our finger puppets.

How many finger puppets will we need? 5 for 5 fingers!

Look at the pictures – what makes a good hand puppet? What resources will you need to make your puppet?

First we need to design our finger puppet. We are going to design the gingerbread man first. The resources you will need are: pencil, piece of paper/card, colouring crayons

Instructions:

1. Get your piece of paper and put your finger on it.
2. Draw around your finger like the shape below.
3. Once you’ve done that you can design your gingerbread man on the inside of the border.
4. Remember to draw a face and colour your gingerbread man in.
5. Keep him safe for next week!

Look at your phonics sounds in the brown envelope in your reading folder. Please spend this time revising these sounds as well as reading the sight words on the orange card. 

English (12:45 - 1:05)

Please present your English work neatly by using cursive handwriting and writing on the lines.
