Reading

Time: 9.00am - 9.30am

Recap

On page 4 and 5 we discovered how overprotective Jordan's mum is. She was terrified of him being up in the tree and we also found out she straps him into a child seat in the car even though he is 13! Also at the end of page 5 Jordan says he is going back to the hospital for the first time since he was in 'remission'. Remission means when someones serious illness improves for a period of time so we know that at some point Jordan has been very poorly.

Task

Read page 6 and 7 to yourself. When you have read to the end of page 7 you need to STOP.

In your yellow reading books you are going to do the following:

Write the long date and title and underline both.

Date: Monday 9th January 2021

PSHE Being Me

Time: 1.00pm - 1.40pm

Resources: plain paper (or sketch book if you don't have any), pencil, colouring pencils or felt tips if you have some, website link.

Task

Our PSHE unit this term is called 'Being Me'. You will be thinking about what makes you unique and how we can see a range of people in the UK. You need to access the website link and there you will find some questions to help you paint a picture of who you are. Please create a poster showing the answers to some of the questions or even all of them if you would like. For example you might draw a picture of yourself in the middle with different things around you that answer the questions. For example maybe your biggest dream is that you would like to go into space. For this you could draw a spaceship orbiting Earth and write 'biggest dream' next to it. It is up to you how your poster looks but it should help others to learn a little bit about you!
