Standard Assessment Tests, otherwise known as SATs are tests taken by children in Year 2 and Year 6 in May.Children in Year 2 did two maths tests - Arithmetic and Reasoning and two Reading tests. These tests were marked internally and the results of these tests were used to support teacher assessment judgments.
Children in Year 6 did three maths tests - Arithmetic, Reasoning 1 and Reasoning 2, a Reading test, a Spelling test and a Grammar and Punctuation test. These tests were sent away to be marked.
At the beginning of July the government published the National data for end of Key Stage 2 SATS tests to coincide with schools receiving their results.
